Virtual Forum on Access to Justice for Migrants
General Objective:
To promote an exchange of promising practices, challenges, and actions to be implemented on access to justice for migrant victims of human rights abuses and violations, based on a dialogue with States, NHRIs, observer organizations, and civil organizations.
Specific objectives:
- Analyze the challenges and risks faced by migrants in transit and destination, including violence, discrimination, arbitrary detention, torture and ill-treatment, gender-based violence, exploitation, enforced disappearances, and denial of economic, social, and cultural rights.
- Explore protection mechanisms at the national and international levels that can be used to improve access to justice for migrants and their families.
- Identify and promote promising practices and concrete actions that can be implemented by States, civil society organizations, national human rights institutions, migrants, family members, and other stakeholders.
